Amrit Bharat Express is a new class of superfast passenger trains featuring innovative “push-pull” technology.
The push-pull system enhances operational safety by allowing the train to be operated from either end, eliminating the need for turning the locomotive at the journey’s end.
The newly introduced ‘jerk-free’ express trains are scheduled to operate on two routes—Darbhanga in Bihar to Delhi's Anand Vihar and from Malda Town in West Bengal to Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus in Bengaluru.
The Amrit Bharat Express will be equipped with modern features such as LED lights, CCTVs, a public information system, and more. The train also features improved luggage racks, and convenient amenities like mobile charging points with suitable holders.
Amrit Bharat Express trains are equipped with various safety features, including horizontal sliding windows, dust-sealed wider gangways, an aerosol-based fire suppression system in toilets and electrical cubicles, an emergency disaster management light, and floor guide fluorescent strips.
Amrit Bharat Express trains will feature non-air-conditioned coaches.
